“I Wonder If It’s Possible to Finish the IPL in the UK” – Michael Vaughan Proposes Bold Idea

Micheal Vaughan suggest an Idea to host IPL in England

The IPL 2025 has been suspended due to the military conflict at the border between India and Pakistan. The BCCI has yet to announce the future of the competition as tensions continue to rise.

Michael Vaughan suggest a change in venue

Amidst this situation, former England captain Michael Vaughan proposed the idea of hosting the remainder of the IPL 2025 in England. Vaughan suggests that England could be a potential venue, as India has previously hosted the marquee competition in South Africa in 2009 and in the UAE during the COVID lockdown.

Vaughan tweeted, “I wonder if it’s possible to finish the IPL in the UK. We have all the venues, and the Indian players can then stay on for the Test series... Just a thought?”

The suspension of the IPL 2025 is mainly due to safety precautions recommended by franchises and overseas players. The tournament has been temporarily suspended, with no clear date for resumption, as the situation at the border remains tense. Hosting the tournament in India seems unlikely in the coming weeks, as the BCCI and IPL governing council have yet to hold a meeting to discuss its future.

Given these circumstances, a change of venue could potentially happen. The IPL is well-known for its business and profit-generating potential. However, hosting in the UAE is unlikely, as the PCB is set to host a tournament there. Vaughan’s suggestion for the option of hosting the tournament in England remains a viable alternative.
